Scott Cowan was born and raised in Gore, Southland. Rugby took him to Otago Boys High School with his building apprenticeship also completed in Dunedin.
The next 5-6 years were spent playing rugby at a professional level – for the Southland Stags and the Highlanders. This included overseas playing stints, but whenever he could Scott was back on the tools, doing what he loved.
At 30 he returned to NZ and moved to Queenstown. His first building project was a home for his brother and since then Scott has never looked back, going on to specialise in architectural home builds and challenging section builds. Scott Cowan Building was established in 2013 with over 12 years as a local, reputable building company.
For Scott, building is in the blood – his father was a chippy, and from a young age Scott would be helping out. Now he is a dad to his own 3 kids and loves living in Queenstown with his partner.
Scott has built a reputation as a builder to trust, both with clients and architectural firms. he is proud to be a Master Builder and is available to discuss upcoming projects.
